Bott Perfo twin hooks work well. You could always screw them directly to a backboard, if you didn't go the whole hog.

Space is at a premium in my garage, and yes, I may be a bit OCD

Cordless tools are best held by the battery slot, you can 3d print rails or buy mounts for them.

I just use an upright 6 door school type locker, I put two or three tools per section. Maybe not the most space efficient but works well and most importantly it was free out a skip

Filing cabinet. Lob stuff in. Slam shut. Job done. Mine locks, so a tiny sliver of security there. They have to make some noise trying to get in there, at least.

I'm not a fan of displaying all my fancy tools on the walls and allowing anyone to use them and gain access everywhere else.

Yep, all get used! I'm only a DIY/hobby user, though, so they don't get hammered, day in, day out.

You weld something, put the torch down on top and manage to rescue it seconds before it melts through.

Rubber handled side cutters and pliers are simply collateral damage during a welding session.

Welding masks get left on top of weldments when it's too hot, for extra battle scars. It's the law

Actually - if I just had the welding bench as the same size as the garage, minus 1ft for walking up and down, that sort my storage problems!

I detest those catches. They're shockingly bad.

Hitachi/Hikoki hit-boxes are the same style Tanos box as the original makpaks and are compatible, but the catches actually operate easily, the makita ones are a nightmare for some reason.
I now use a lot of the metabo (plaston) metaboxes (same as the strauss box), which will stack on top of a systainer classic/makpak but are a little more robust and have better stacking system (similar to the T lock, but easier).

I can’t claim it as a Windy Miller original - just like you, I had a drill storage need, and got this ideal from a bit of Googling!

I just bought a couple of t stak boxes this weekend on offer at Screwfix seem pretty good quality. The lid catches are good the catches that clip the boxes together not quite as good

We tried that at the mens shed. The problem is that if you have lots of different makes and models of drill you have to customize each pipe to hold the different sized and shaped drill bodies.
Then you get different users using them then putting them away again who get confused about the right pipe to put them into.
The drills all end up on the shelf below where they sit perfectly ok on their batteries.

I was going to use the plastic pipe system until I saw how confusing it is.
I keep mine on a shelf in a steel cupboard and there they will stay as it just works, they stay dust free and it's more secure.
The suggestion of a filing cabinet is also good. You can use a drawer to make a fire retardant charging station.

first gotta make a decent small radi bender that can reprodce the same hoop....
very nice.....If I maske anything it never gets paced the primer stage.....be nice to have some colour....
