In fairness though, they would have to go through quite a rapid process of evolution to become people...
Sadly I have quite a bit of experience on the matter and I really wish I didn't.
I wish Steph success in retrieving his property, but unfortunately I suspect it isn't very likely.
Insurance is fine, but it doesn't cover the inconvenience, and often not the cost of equipment, especially older gear which is often irreplaceable.
It is a horrible feeling and I can sympathise. I suspect there will be quite a few businesses in a similar situation due to the recent events.

because its a funny list for items that have been stolen
these items are so trivial to list
2x large oil drums 25l
- small dewalt sander
- 1 small lump hammer and larger hammer
- Clarke gravity spray gun brand new
this alone is a double listing
- SDS Bosch large floor drill - in a grey and yellow box.
- Bosch nut runner and portable grinder in box
-2x small Bosch grinders
to have a
diagnostic machine - in the van well id quote that as being stupid
The items that were taken are as following:
- SDS Bosch large floor drill - in a grey and yellow box.
- Bosch nut runner and portable grinder in box
-110 big Bosch grinder
-Robi drill with all bits in box
-Black small floor drill in box
-2x small Bosch grinders
-2x large oil drums 25l
- small dewalt sander
- oerlikon mig welder in blue
- Clarke gravity spray gun brand new
- teng tools impact socket set
- large snap on extension bar
- 1 small lump hammer and larger hammer
- 1 diagnostic machine - in the van
- tools also inside the van not 100% sure what
to me it would be listed like this
van stolen with stored gear inside of it which i suspect is what happened
theyve thrown in many other items the listing does not read right for stolen gear

you would write a list like that for insurance purposes as i think you have itemized everything and show receipts don't you

Stop beating around the bush and say what your implying out loud for all to read and stop being cryptic...
Don't know about anyone else but if I got done my list would be a lot more comprehensive than the above.
If I posted watch out posts about I wouldn't rewrite it with just the main items I'd copy and paste from my list

I can tell you, when you have stuff go missing you write down everything you remember. e.g. 25L of oil will be fairly obvious and will stick in your mind.
You try and recall everything but sometimes it takes a while to work out what's gone - you just know something isn't there.
You put down as much detail as possible to give them the best chance of them identifying it if they find a load of gear stashed.
Sorry, but I don't think there is anything unusual about what has been taken or how it has been noted down. It is what I would, and have, done on several occasions.
He will probably be able to double that list after a few months when he goes to use something and find it is not there.
There is also is no rhyme or reason to what they will take, items with little monetary value which would have been difficult to lift have gone in a flash.

For five years, I was part of the 'travelling community', in that we lived in trucks and travelled round.
We lived on an abandoned ex military site in Bristol on and off.
Everyone worked, we all had jobs. It was lovely, I was a nurse, there was an architect, removals bloke, a welder, shop workers, and the rest did temping through agencies. No tea leaves.
Call thieves , thieves. I'm not saying there are scum, but often they live next door, or in poor areas of rich areas...
Thieving doesn't necessarily represent certain sections of society, although I appreciate you all have personal history which could prejudice this and other threads....
Let's not tar all people with the same brush...
I'm getting down off my moral high ground and going to to some more tinkering.
Let's just avoid generalisations, folks. It panders to hate among social groups.

I experienced this in my local village, from locals I'd known for years, instantly assuming because you loved in a truck, you were likely to break into their shed and steal a chainsaw , as if....
Thieving is, I can only assume a mentality, I can't really imagine.
