Has anyone here any experience of Prime Tech welders - seen this on ebay

was pretty much set to buy a clarke but I like the idea of 8 output settings and I like the price of the Prime Tech

145 amp Chinese welder shipped from Germany...hmmmmm.
£40 more buys you a Clarke 160 from a UK seller with UK backup...no contest!

Thank you - thats what I needed to know. I had real trouble finding anything about Prime Tech anywhere else.

Don't worry too much about the voltage steps, 6 is still good.
You won't be disappointed with a 160, I helped a new member set his up a while back and was very impressed with it.

Prime Tech welder

Hi.
Having used a Telwin Bimag 130 for the past 10+ years very successfully, I was distraught to find the local tomcat had climbed up on my workbench, and 'marked' it prolifically. I didn't realise what had happened, and fired it up. Or rather, TRIED to fire it up. Instead of the usual hum amd fan sound, I got a strange sort of noise, no pilot light, and the wire-feed didn't work...and a goddawful stink
Took it apart, and checked the fuse. OK. turned it on again, and the turbo fan would try to rotate without success. I flipped it with my finger, and it started to turn, but just slowed down and stopped. I don´t know if the relay cuts out if the fan doesn't run, but I need this welder constantly, and didn't have time to try to fix it. I saw the Prime Tech auction, ordered it, and hope it will be as good as the Telwin. I only paid 159 euros plus shipping. I paid over 350 euros 10+ years ago for the Telwin, so the price is good. Hope the performance is as good too.
