sticky trigger on clarke 151 turbo gas mig

hiya peeps i have an annoying problem with my mig if i stop welding for 5mins with out turning off gas flow the trigger locks up! its totaly un pressable. this is annoying as have to rush to turn gas off every time i stop!! any ideas whats causeing this???

ng this?? and if its a quick fix or do i need to buy a hole new gun??

i was wondering if is a blocked valve or something inside the gun??

Are you using the disposable type bottle with it's reg or a big bottle with full size reg?
Reason it could be that the gas pressure is building up behind the trigger/plunger due to excess pressure. Full size reg wound down to much. Disposable bottle type reg, just poor on it's control. Which ever type try backing off the flow.

im using small disposable at min as have three bottles to use up before i get me a new regulator and big bottle ye i had a feeling it might be a crap regulator with not much adjust ment. ive tryed to turn gas flow down that way but its making no difference mate! i guess i wont find out till i get it hooked up with big bottle n new regulator hey?

Unless you have a pea shooter flow meter then you will have no ideal of how much flow/pressure you are sending into the gun/valve. As most people seam to have to little flow from those regulators the general advice seams to be "turn it fully on" but you may have one of the few that actually work!! maybe? so back it off a bit.
A proper regulator has a diaphragm which uses the gas either side of the diaphragm to control the flow where I think the disposable type are little more than a tap so pressure will build up.
