Sticking down carpet

I'm going to be using a load of carpet in the back of the project Landy as a cheaper alternative to 'proper' soundproofing.

I was thinking of using Evo Stik impact adhesive - has anyone got any other/better suggestions?

Upholsterers use spray glue. Spray both surfaces and let it tack then whack it in place. It will hold but is not as permanent as Evo for those times when you may need to do a bit of repair work.

I bought 2l of high temperature contact adhesive from Car Builder Solutions for a recent job, it was the best value for quantity I could find at the time.

Good double sided carpet tape is fairly permanent but you can still get it up if needed

As above - spray contact adhesive is what is used in offices for carpet tiles. Dead easy to apply and works very well. Can be removed with some effort by starting at a corner and peeling it bit by bit, but it won't slip or creep otherwise. I've had to pull up carpet tiles and refit them hundreds of times when moving network and power floor boxes around in offices. Also a standard aerosol goes a very long way.

I used Evostick to fit the carpets, sound deadening and roof lining into my 90, it worked a treat but the fumes were eye watering for a few days after!

spray glues the best and quickest. i covered a boat inside using it . spray both carpet and the walls leve 5 mins stick it on and its going nowhere even if it gets wet

I buy it from the local DIY shop it's only a couple of quid and lasts ages.

I'd go for Trimfix spray adhesive for cars. It has better temperature resistance than carpet adhesive which tends to fail when the car goes in the sun.

Done the same using evo stick many times, not sure some std carpet adhesives will like ali and getting damp so much. Driven through deep water and never had an issue with EVO, just a note many don't let it dry enough before contact and the bond is hence weak. The only hard bit is trying to get it off again
