only if you have a moped in the sound track ,,, and a pair of safety sandals and a squintListen pal. I just welded a friggin steel bar to a spanner. Surely that puts me in the top tier of welders round here.![]()

What is meant here is to run a few welds in the same area as the joint will be, then grind back flat... the heat from doing this acts as a preheat... then weld whatever it is to the plate.is access the reason for not preheat, or lack of gas? could you weld a pad, then quickly grind it back, using that as a heat source?
