or does Parker Steel just have silly pricing for this sort ot stuff (I know it's 2mm and not 1.6mm but would that make such a difference)

As a hobby user I've got no real idea on the price of steel so don't know when I'm getting ripped off.

If I was to create a spreadsheet with a dozen or so different products would someone be willing to give me some guide prices - I'll post the sheet here so others could use it as well

Nice one, its usefull to us to have feedback about the places listed, if anyone has a bad experience, we can look at changing the listing.

thats what I thought, I went into this a bit blind as its the first time I have bought anything like this.

Out of interest does this sound a fair price?

2 metres of 30x30x3mm box section
2 metres of 20x20x3mm box section
6 metres of 20x3mm flat bar
6 metres of 20x20 right angle

all for £30 and he chopped the longer lengths in half so they would fit in the van

not a bad price. not the best but tbh unless your buying like i have to with the 30x30x3mm box then your gonna be looking at about 3-4 quid a meter at least prob nearer the 5 quid mark. we buy 7.6 meter lengths, normally around 4-500 meters every couple of months. i have to put it all away by hand as well cos the sideloader wont fit into my welding area

buying bulk is always going to be a bit cheaper I suppose. Good to hear I paid a reasonable price. He also chucked in a load of scraps for me to practice on
