Steel price

Evening all. quick question,would someone be able to tell me roughly how much this steel will cost:
150mm by 3mm tube @ 1550mm long
Two 600mm discs out of 8mm
One 150mm disc out of 8mm
4 lengths of 8mm sheet 1550mm by 450mm

I doubt you will get much help with accurate or even close to accurate prices.

They are all 'cut to order' shapes and sizes, the prices between suppliers and areas for standard off the shelf steel varies greatly, cut to shape and size even more so.

Thanks for your reply, I'm not after a specific price, just a rough ball park figure.

If i was buying it, it would be a 7.5m length of CHS, 3x laser cut 8mm thick profiles and 2x 2m x 1m 8mm plate. Maybe 200 quid?

If your wanting to buy them cut at the lengths shown and buying off a fabricator or from an online shop; double it.

I would buy it from a fab shop up the road, the discs hopefully can just be cut free hand with the gas. £200 would be fine but double that sounds a bit steep! Thanks for the reply!

Have a look on eBay, it'll give you a ballpark figure for the cost. But it's always cheaper if you buy by the standard size (i.e. 7.6m for most box section) and just figure out how best to use the length.

not sure about that 'tube' do u mean round -closest is 139.7x3 ,anyway welder paul is about right imo.

Yes round tube. 140 is close enough it's only for a post, although I'm sure it's possible to get 150 tube.

139.7 and 168.3 are the nearest CHS sizes to 150mm, and therefore the easiest available. You'll get nearer to 150 by using NB pipe, but more expensive.

I was mistaken, 140 it is then! Priced it up from metals4u & it's about £250. I know they r quite dear so if the local fab shop does it all cut for the same price then I will be happy. Thanks again!
