Steel price collapse?

Is anybody else getting this. Just been ringing around for steel quotes for a big railings job I'm starting and the merchants are talking up the prices. Apparently its getting in short supply.
Especially box section.
Customers are going to take some convincing on that one with the current media situation.
Got a decent price on this order but it's not looking good for next batch.
Can't complain though. Still paying damm near same as when I started buying the stuff 25 years ago and it didn't seem that dear then.

No issues with shortage as I know.

Steel prices are on the up though. 1st of May will see another big jump. Problem is stockholders sell it on the basis of current stock replacement value and not what they bought it for.
The mills are playing games again.

I've bought 80 tonne of structural and 18 tonne of smaller section this week to avoid the price hike.

Well I did suspect the 'shortage' thing was trying to put the frightens on me.
He reckoned it was because the mills in this country are packing up, but I don't think I've had much British steel in a long while.
I can see it's a bit more of an issue when you getting though 100's of tons. A four ton order is a big one for me.
