Snooper, you're right it's a pain, but it's not an EU instruction, it's an initiative by the Mayor of London (Ken started it, Boris wants to keep it). If you're going to be anti EU, you could at least get your facts right.
What the EU wants is for air quality in London (which is the worst in the UK and amongst the worst in Europe) to be improved. Fair enough, surely? Not that you should care as you don't live there.

it is an indirect result of the EU order to reduce air pollution and its a no brainer as to what would be the target of getting levels down.
and no i dont live there but the op topic is regarding business and the lez will cripple the white van man that only just make ends meet

Well at Lorch UK, we have have a good year so far, 1st qtr was pretty good and the 2nd qtr was unbeliveable. We even had 2 months, April and June which were record months, since we have been selling Lorch in the UK (since 2005) and even when compared to the boom year of 2007.

I must admit that the phones went quiet around the beginning of July, so I dont expect the turnover for July to be as good as the last 3 months, but its definately started to pick up again, so fingers crossed for the next 2 months.

We have been lucky enough to have a fair few multiple machine orders for 7-10 Saproms, P Series etc (Large Industrial Migs) on one order into various end customers, so if they are willing to spend £20k-£40k at a time on capital equipment, then I see that as a good sign for the wider manufacturing sector. In 2009, multiple orders were literally 2 machines at a time so there has really been a big change this year. Hope that it continues!

Actually as I am typing this, I just heard on the news that the GDP grew much more/faster for the last qtr at 1.1% than predicted, so that would also tie in with the busy spell we saw during the same period. Good times
