Been messing around in the garage all day and I'm starting to get some really good consistent welds 
I even managed to tidy some of them up with a flapdisc and then beat the crap out of them with a hammer to see how strong they were. (mainly box section to box section but also had a play with some plate to box section as well)
On all of them, I had to keep beating for about a minute to a minute and a half in order to cause any damage, and when the metal finally split, it wasn't the weld which factured
I'll take some pics when I get chance and see what you all think of them. I'm going to draw up some plans for mini projects so I can practice a bit more before starting my chassis in a few weeks time....
