Starting to dislike Monday’s!

A few of you may have figured out I drive an HGV for a living, or at least try to make a living.

The unit is leased, and thankfully the lease is coming to an end this year, I don’t think I’d be able to afford run it if it wasn’t on lease.

The repair bill this year, that’s covered under the contract, is currently sat at just over £4000 and were less than 40 days in to the year.

It’s currently sat at Thompson’s Renault in Grimsby, after holding up the A18 in limp mode, wanting a new Camshaft, and possibly an injector too.

We used to repair several light HGV lorries for single owner operators - market traders - coal men - market gardeners - scaffold companies - odd Showman - flower delivery - removals companies - marquee hire - odd ground work company.

Now we don't do any... Most small businesses don't own and run little HGV's now. They either hire transport jobs out. Or if they have to have a lorry they lease it with a maintenance contract.

We never did ever do many "one man band" transport companies. We always avoided these - mainly do to payment problems...
