Almost a complete newbie here, did a few different types of welding in a PLC course back in the nineties, but it was pretty basic.
I started doing my own car repairs in the driveway the last few years, and I've run into a few stripped nuts and bolts that would've been a lot easier to get off if I had a welder handy to tack on a nut. Ideally I'd also like to be able to repair the bootlid on the wife's '06 Viano, which has a rusty hole that'll eventually cause an NCT (MOT) fail.
So, could I get something suitable for that job in a £150-250 budget, or should I buy something this year for practising on lighter metal, and upgrade later?
