Starter AC Tig Welder for Aluminium only.

Hi all.
I'm looking at starting a new business where my product is made entirely from aluminium angle, box and flat no more than 3.25mm thick (1/8"). Most of the work is done with rivets, however I'm having to pay someone £30 an hour to weld a few bits together and thought I could do this myself. Some suggestions would be helpful, budget can be anywhere as I wouldn't want to buy a unit for £200 only to find its useless but I don't want to spend more than a £1000 really. Probably only going to get used for an hour a day.

Hello mate I would say your gonna spend nearer to the £1000 and over for an ac/dc tig machine ! If you want all the bells and whistles the price goes up and up .

I bought a Parweld XTT202P at the back end of last year and it is doing well for me. Came in at £840 inc VAT but prices may have risen since then.

There a Miller TIG Welder on Fleabay ATM for 750.00 (buy it now) but you'll need a van to collect it and won't run of a 13amp plug........

I bought the parweld xtt202p aswel recently. I only have very limited experience with ac tig but so far I'm very happy with it. It's very easy to use and set up. the way you adjust settings is very well laid out and easy to understand for me anyway. the torch and other stuff that comes with it seem good quality but i haven't had it long enough to see how well they hold up in the long run but so far it's a thumbs up from me for the parweld.

Cheers so far chaps. That Miller looks as big as my Berlingo van lol. Probably a bit big and far for me to go but I would travel.
The parwelds look good, might look out for a second hand one. Thanks again.
