As Gaz says on page 1 , if you are doing structural joints in steel (especially for paying customers) , then get someone in to do them.
Or use a proper accredited company to fabricate them for you ( it’s not that expensive if you know the right people )
50% of the stuff we have done for builders in the past could have been done with bolted connections anyway with no need for welding.
i.e connections made using 2 angle brackets instead of a welded end plate.
I even managed to do a 10 ton frame for a film set just using bolted connections. Bought it all cut and drilled from stockholder and had it delivered directly to site, no need for a fabricator at all.
