Been connected for a week....easy instal.....great on line instruction and Parabol placement....
I'm still slightly out on direction....
Mid morning today d/load was just over 320....u/load was 52....
It's the busy time now 5pm here.....
d/load160 and u/load is 41.....
just saying if ur thinking about it, I'm really happy....
we live well outside a city so no idea on speeds there....
were paying 29 euro's per month for the lower service.....top service is 49 euro's.....

We have had it about the same, currently wedged on the grass to get the angle correct, rooftop install is next week

We’re 175 download 37 upload. Download is usually well up into the high 300’s

What gets me is that the main fibre line runs past my house. There is a junction box on a pole about 60 yards away. AND there is a spare piece of redundant fibre line running from that pole past my house! All they need to do is join up that redundant cable and put it into my house
My house is right on the road - we get about 10 cars a day

Have you tried getting a 3rd party communications outfit to do it, they should have better routes into Open reach.

Some friends of our had a similar issue. But got fibre tothe house through a rural speacialist.

Nobody wants to know. Only 4 houses in my postcode area. The village 1 mile up the road has full fibre. Only 7 houses. They did the hard part years ago laying the cable all the way from Carmarthen about 20 miles.

similar to here.....the whole island of crete has fiber in the ground but only maj towns have......
Bit like the rest of the world.....did the big job then spent the connection money on BEER....

Not a bad ping for a satellite system. Just goes to show how low an orbit they have. Which is why I doubt i can have one.

Id suggest trying one even if you need to prune a few trees back, tis roughly 100 degree cone up from the dish, theres a bit on the app for checking I think.

You are over thinking it. The red areas are obstructions, trees and the house that are physically close. Once it is on the roof they will not be an issue

If you get it on the roof, it will work

When we installed our, we initially had it below the roof line to keep it out the wind. It only blocked the signal from the north but was enough to get us a poor connection. Once we put it a live the roof line, perfect signal. Yet on the way to work there is a house that sits low and has trees on three sides of their garden l. The Starlink dish is on the ground within 2 yards of the house. I believe they get a good signal but I find it hard to believe they do

I've never seen one directly overhead

As always, the choice is yours

Not at all - I just went to the starlink website. They state that results can vary greatly depending on location.
I see they offer a 30 day free trial though so may give it a try.
How does heavy rain effect it? Our sky dish gets hammered as does the microwave link I used to have on our warehouse.
Wales is rather wet sadly

Read this post - lady in Oregon - similar situation. Not getting more than 15mb - often down to 5 - returned it in the end.
And we are more hemmed in than that.

Rain has zero effect on the Starlink here, the 5G was regularly knocked out with it

I am rather dubious but will give it a try. Sun rarely hits our house. The problem won't be lack of speed but periods of no signal at all. That is the problem with low orbit satellites.
