Yes but us rural folk….go starlink with voice over Ip….no lines copper or fibre required. Ditch BT.

I've worked at a few events where Starlink has been used to provide internet access, and although my use has been absolute minimalistic (we're only ever sending data packets measured in kb), the media guys absolutely hammer it and never complain. However at those events, there is also usually an onsite network guy, with everybody segregated into user groups, so critical stuff gets priority over the non-critical stuff.

The only downside that I'm aware off, is ping times are higher than wired broadband. That's not an issue for normal use, but if any of the family are die hard gamers, they might not be too impressed.

I looked at getting Starlink at the start of the year, but then found out that fibre broadband was going to be installed, so it wasn't really worth the cost for only a few months.

Is Starlink something you can also access on the move?

Yes, but it'll cost you.
The basic starlink can only be used at the registered address, which is billed monthly.
If you want to move location, you'll need to pay another months fee, or pay a lot more for the non-fixed option.

There is also now a truly mobile option that can be used on the move, but it's even more expensive.

You'll have to forgive me. The word "you" in your statement, could be interpreted either way. You could be talking about yourself or you could be talking about someone else.

If the former, my statement stands. If the latter, obviously crack right on.

Why? The man is only doing what BT should have done, the only reason they have competition is because of the way they carry on, if they supplied the service they should nobody would get a look in.

Yes. There’s 2 options for that. Normally your panel only works from the address on your account.
option 1 You can use the standard square panel unlocked to work from any static location
option 2 a different panel designed to be used on a moving vehicle - RV, boat etc
Both cost more than the standard monthly fee of course.
