Stand for hot water cylinder

I need to replace the stand for our hot water cylinder. The current one is made of mdf and is collapsing! For the last 18 months I've had a scissor jack and blocks of timber under it. I'd like to make a complete stand either from timber or box so I can drain and remove the cylinder, swap the stands, refit and refill. I'd rather use steel box rather than timber but if I do does it need to be earth bonded??

make the frame out of box with a plywood top .it doesnt need earth bonding .the silly season of bonding everything metal in sight has gone .if its in a domestic dwelling the only bonding required is the gas water and oil if u have them using 10mm earth cable and have rcd protection

I cant remember but I think steel and copper react........google it........it will be somewhere.........in the dim and distant past I seem to recall something about a copper tank sitting on a nail and corroding through at that point

stands don't need bonding, otherwise everything metal would have to be bonded, tv brackets, ornamental tables, would be bonding cables everywhere.

deffo use a wooden top though

dont laugh ,years ago metal windows needed to be bonded exposed steelwork handrails in homes anything metal. and in school or shops sinks and metal prep tables had to be as well

dont laugh the job im working on at the mo have steel frames that have to come out . there a right pig there cutting them to bits with an angle grinder and slitting disks
