As previously descussed in a past thread I am going to be sticking some box section on my tubular steel chassis to hold the front wishbones in place....
The chassis is made of stainless 409 which is "a lightwall stainless pipe for corosive or high temperature services". and is only available in round tube!
Can anyone sugest what grade of stainless to use for the box section bars and what type of MIG or TIG wire and gas is preferable to get a strong weld?
Im so worried that choosing the wrong material is going to cause cracking...and if the suspension mounts drop off then its kinda serious!
Thanks.
Duncan
