hi there, wheres best get some SS wire.
and is there different types you can get.

most common ones ive seen are 309 dissimilar wire. 312 and 316. I use 316 for pretty much everything but none of my stuff is coded work, mostly just decorative

never welded anything other then mild steel.
would be handy to be able to weld SS with the mig from time to time.

you will need different gas too usually. Everyone reccomends argon mix with <3% carbon dioxide

argg, thats a pain.

for the once in a blue moon use, its a bit OTT having to rent a bottle just for that.

I plan to try to weld some stainless with my Argoshield Lite gas - it has 5% CO2, but I will give it a try - it's not for anything structural.... I will buy a small spool of 308L wire and see what happens...

I use Argoshield life for all my stainless welding. It works just fine.

I tend to stick with the 316.
