I got completely fed up of my original plastic sponsons breaking, I think the plastic is old, brittle and the cold UK waters don't help either. Spares are unobtainable and I have used up the two spares that I did have.

So a replacement set in 316 stainless seemed like the way to go, not many pictures but you can get the idea. Made from 1.5mm sheet, profiles cut with grinder and then all hand worked to get the required shapes. Fully seam welded with backpurge and then flap wheeled to finish, prior to a coat of matt black paint.

It turns so aggressively its hard to hang on as it is, its got a stepped hull and it just digs in. Scary at more than 25 mph, but eventually it leans so far over that the jet gets aerated and it effectively stops dead anyway.

I did have another picture of the blank profiles as cut, but it wouldn't upload.
