Hi,
I am fixing a stainless steel stair handrail - it's not the kind of thing I normally do but is for a customer I do a few odd jobs for and they came to me because it needed some simple custom pillars making.
I am using Pro-Railing from Brundles but didn't buy the self tappers to fix the handrail to the brackets from Brundles with the rest of the stuff - probably a mistake.
I bought some self tappers from my local fastener place and told them that they needed to be hard enough to go into the 2mm 304 wall of the handrail. They are not - even if I drill the handrail on the big side and get the screws starting they just don't pull in properly.
What do people normally use for this please - I guess I could tap the handrail and use stainless M5 pan head screws - maybe that would be easier in the long run?
Thanks
