The rudder in the above pic was done with Magmawelds, they seem very sensitive to dampness, if stored in the van the flux will start popping off the rod when you use them, never had that issue before with any stainless rods. They also tend to have an initial porosity issue even when just out of a newly opened packet but I have had that with a lot of other brands in the past so it is not specific to them.
Not seen any stainless rods specifically for positional welding, just the same rods and the same method for steel but with a lower current.
Ohh, ok. Just me then that can't use them if not on the flat or horizontal. I have no probs with other arc rods.
Drop your current, was using 2.5mm rods there and probably 50 amps, maybe even less.
