Hey guys!
Was sticking an awning in the van today and the brackets have a few screws that go in underneath to stop the awning lifting up.
I pre drilled at 3mm and used 4x25mm stainless self tappers. However due to the angle I had to stick them in at I thick the heads were catching too much before they were fully seated.. either that or they were slightly too long or something. Anyway 2 of them had their heads pop off when tightening down. These now need extracting…
I’ve tried drilling them with a 3mm cobalt drill bit and some WD40 but it’s literally doing nothing. Can’t easily take the awning off now so needs to be done in situ. I’ve got a cheap bolt extractor kit but it won’t touch it unless I can get a hole started in the screws.
Any ideas? I hate these kind of jobs with a passion!
