I don't suppose anybody has an idea where I could buy this type of thing?

Some are m5 some m6, for non anglers amongst us they're basically screws to adjust the height of a bankstick and im forever losing them in the mud.


They don't have to be exactly the same as the photo, but in a similar vein. Cheers

The one on the right is just an m(?) Thumbscrew.
Domed head, knurled finish. Can be found on eBay or make one on a lathe if you have access to one.

Ah, it cant just be a bog standard bolt- its got to look pretty for us carp anglers

I think,but dont mark me right on this,a mate of mine used the same sort of screws/bolts from an old computer tower,the ones that holds the sides on,i might be totally wrong but ya never know????????????????????????????????

We would usually ask for sizes and threads and so on.......just to be sure.

Probably subject to a minimum order though,
Usually when I need something like this I make them with a wing nut with a short length of studding screwed in and held in place with a tiny tig tack.

Hard to tell from the photos but the pitch looks too tight on the larger one to be M6, maybe 12-28 ANF and the other 10-32 ANF unless they are BA.

Sorry, I should have explained myself better.

The ones in the photo are M5, but I also have the same type of bankstick which is M6.

What im ideally looking for is both M5 and M6 stainless steel slotted thumbscrews with a thread length of no more than 10mm long, any longer and it protrudes too far and gets snarled up in the rod bag when I pack my gear away.

Maybe a couple of bags of button head cap screws in your fishing box and a couple of hex drivers to cover losses?

I did suffer from the same problem with my banksticks, and now I have red plastic star knobs on all of my adjustable banksticks and my rod-pod.
If they get dropped into water they float, and when dropped into mud they generally remain on the surface, and being red I can see then reasonably easily............... they are also very cheap at 70-80p each from a Chinese ebay shop

Can you not drill them and 'lock wire' with nylon fishing line?

I see no reason why it cannot be done with a swivel, a length of stainless steel trace wire and crimps................... as that is exactly how I retain the drain plug for my compressor to prevent loss, as well as several welding jig parts, along with other bits and bobs in the workshop.
I use Cadoc 45KG Breaking Strain Stainless Steel trace wire and crimps.
