Stainless feed liner?

are the steel liners for upgrading Sips stainless? can you get stainless ones? just thinking that a mild one rust up?

FWIW: You need a plastic/teflon liner for stainless welding wire. Otherwise metal particles (shavings) from the normal metal liner may contamininate your weld and cause corrosion.

First, what does FWIW mean? I'm not grate with TLAs lol

I never mentioned stainless welding wire (All the welding i do is on cars) but thats intresting info for future reference if I ever want to weld stainless...however the plastic liners aren't favoured on here for there tendancy to resist and break up. I don't know realy as my machine came with a metal one and no instruction to change it for stainless or anything else. It may be stainless, I don't know but if its not, then if possible, I'd like to replace it with a stainless one so it doesn't rust/wear.

Ok, for what its worth : I misunderstood your question. I don't think stainless steel liners are avaible. If you are worried about rust I would recommend a teflon (not pvc) liner. They are pretty resistant to wear. Unless ofcourse you are welding 15kgs of wire a month. I know some guys that always leave the teflon liners in. Just another thought: if you are worried about getting rust into the liner of your torch I would be equally concerned about the effect of moisture on the other parts inside my welder........

ah I see...I'll get a teflon one if i run into the tin worm but I'm more of a 15kgs a year kinda hobby numpty welder and most of that needs grinding off lol cheers mate.
