Moderated .410 for me around the shoot, no louder than an air rifle and lets you hit them on the move or in the Dray, hundreds of the pesky things.

Reds numbers are much improved up here, but we don't tend to tell specific locations where they can be found/seen.

We have reds here too.
You don't see them often but it always special when you do. (Unless they are road kill)

They are making a comeback in some areas, the biggest factor seems to be the return of Pine Martains.
They eat squirrels and don't care what colour but the Reds have evolved with the Pine Martins and seem to know how to avoid getting eaten by them.
Greys don't and get decimated.
They either stay and get eaten or move out taking their diseases with them.

Friend had the things in the attic at work near Regents park, called in the squirrel man who after much talk in the office was asked to put in non lethal traps for the lovely fury critters.
He caught a No that went on Holiday to the Cotswolds I was told

If caught, I thought it was illegal to release them, I bet they had a holiday in squirrel heaven in reality, just didn’t want to offend anyone

You can’t fit many of them in a game bag though. I used to get a least twenty Fenns in my bag, tunnels were all made with sticks, stones and sods. Those collarum traps look pretty good though

Fenn traps are the best for most jobs, its just the public perception of a bear trap!!!!!! that causes us problems.

All our problems come from what we vall "offcomedens" in Bowland.. Basically those who know nothing much of reality of things here. Talk a lot look a little

Can be vicious little sods, still people think fluffy is good.
