Spring compressor

Hi, good people.

Today I finished (I hope) the mechanical part a project.
It is finally time to relube my hw77, so I made a simple spring compressor to avoid killing myself (or the windows' glass).

Now I have to try it, and then is paint time.
As usual, every question or comment is wellcome.

wheres the gun i just renewed mine by putting the screw in block on the floor inserted the spring put the gun on top and shoved it down with all my weight on top of it and screwed it down

I'm trying to do it the fancy way...
Now I'm waiting for the new spring and spring guides.

By the way, if I may ask, is yours sub 12lbf or Fac? I'm asking because of the amount of preload the spring could have.

That’s how I used to do mine too. The .177 was easy, a knackered .22 I was given was a bit harder. I replaced the factory spring with an uprated one. That took some force and effort, a spring compressor would have been handy

standard 12 1bf used to have a .22 rimfire on fac

Last day or so I revisited my . 22 HW 57 in an attempt to make it group sensibly. This is the second attempt . After the first one failed I took the easy option and went PCP.. This time a much improved group , so much so that had I managed it the first I would have saved about £1200.00 and stayed springer. Hey Ho.
One "minor " problem is that it now crono's over 12 so will have to come apart again this pm to reduce it. If I can end up with around 10.5 I think that will do . Bl**Dy hobbies!!
