Spraying the Vette.

As fornthe bubbles. It's a common thing on these and other cars in GRP. Even metal cars can find it happen.
Damp air,surface. Not prepped correctly etc etc.
All i have is my clarke garage and will be lined out and once the car is stripped back to bare then it will be left for a week or so in good temps to dry out what ever is there.

Feel free to ask advice, I have specialised in fibreglass car and 'bike painting for 20 years.

For filtration I used a 3 stage filter including a coalescing filter to get decent quality air - shako brand ( Chinese?) but UK supplied. It means that you are describing me! I have been a fibreglass specialist for decades, with many resprays, repairs and upgrades under my belt. I have shown some of my work on the forum, I'm surprised that you haven't seen it?

My current job (this one for me)...

Indeed, fibreglass preparation is a complex and long job. When I was working, my estimate before seeing any full respray was £7k and went up from there. I am doing my Middlebridge currently and am already over 50 hours in, on the prep.

I think I need.to paint our DILLIGAF. it's the last thing that's bugging me now.
So I good with paint and where to donit. Just the spray gun now and which touse for obvious e off job. Well i hope its a one off unless I cock it up lol.
This is the gun if have

I have only used it one the chassis and small jobs in the past.
It's.a.Clarke one but unsure of the model

Would.this be good enough for the job or better to get a gravity gun. I don't mind spending around £100 if need be.

I rattle canned the nose with the paint i got on a colour match which is the bad. 3 coats and two lacquer.

I need to line the gargae out ans eal it all to keep dust down aswell. And choose a good weekend for temperatures.

Be good to faff spraying s bigger job than normal.

No need to spend a fortune on a spray gun, a sub £50 machine mart gun is perfectly adequate. Anyone who cant produce a decent job with one isn't a painter.

Air volume available will dictate the type of gun which can be used.

are you doing another colour change ?
was the red one something different or maybe a customers vehicle.
i liked the red, somehow made the car look more like a handcrafted alloy vehicle than a grp one.

Thats the one, looks awesome. The colour really suits the vehicles lines

No, the Middlebridge was the one that I wanted epoxy priming because it was bare and needed to live outside for a while. My own workshop was too full and dirty to do it myself, but I would have done better by brush or even throwing a bucket of paint at it.

got to say every time i use my sealey 701g gold gun i'm always pleased with the results. i also bought a devilbiss flg5 but sold it as i prefer the sealey (not usually a sealey fan but can't fault it) was £20 odd 7 years ago

I was pleased with mine till I used it for clear coat, it sprayed heavy at the bottom so I got lines, a pig to get rid of.

maybe @norsa can chime in.

Quite happy to but he's getting good advice from AJ. A decent job is reflected in decent environment, equipment, materials and experience. Impossible to teach someone to achieve good finish on social media. I have almost 50years under my belt and still learning.
