S Samuealle New Member Messages 9 Feb 15, 2012 #3 Okay thanks Steve. I take it zinc sticks well then? The issue i have is that I want to use the existing paint as its the correct colour for my application. Would I be able to overcoat chassis black with cellulose?

steveo3002 Member Messages 7,605 Feb 15, 2012 #4 for the zinc to be any benefit it would have to go on the steel , thats what i was getting at , so use one or the other ...epoxy sticks the best if you want it body colour then skip the chassis black , go straight over the primer or use the stonechip if you wish

Its a mini and the way i do brake lines ect ect its not a great issue to drop them out. Will one good medium coat of stone chip from the gun do?

steveo3002 Member Messages 7,605 Feb 15, 2012 #6 yeah maybe try a test coat on something to see if you like the finish , i often thin it a little bit and use fairly high pressure for a smoother look or if you want stippled effect turn the pressure down so its just splattering out dont put too much on , it will take forever to dry

Is it ok to have a little standard primer on the stone chip from overspray before top coat is applied ? Here's mine in 2k epoxy primer and paint. Ive used Photobucket because the forum loading wont work. Last edited: Feb 16, 2012
