Hi all, I have read a few threads on other forums where people have sprayed the above through a 1.8mm tip when thinned down with 15% thinners instead of 10%. Has anybody on here had success with this as it seams 1.8mm is the largest I can get for the flg5.
Overthinning it a few % more won't be a problem, just don't go mad.
If you can heat the paint before spraying (say to 30 or 40 degrees) it will have a bigger effect. Just watch the pot times, but I've never had a problem even using winter grade hardener.
I can tell you it sprays fine through a 1.8 in a pressure pot but that's a different system.
I've heard over thinning "might" make the paint less flexible but I'm not convinced it's a problem and I've overthinned it lots.
Use the correct Thinner 17 and leave it to dry (as the TDS) between coats and you will be fine.
I'll also admit to applying a couple of coats with just a half hour flash off and it seemed to work but that's not what Jotun tell you to do.
