Spray gun Fan size fault sata 3000

Hi i was about to lay down my clear coat using a gun which i just brought brand new and the fan diameter is awful,3 inch maximum. Was wondering how can i fix it,its a sata 3000. Dont have the receipt anymore so am i screwed ,is it going straight in the bin or can it be fixed.

can only be a blockage or the fan adjustment maybe has a fault take it apart check for faults and clean out the airways

You should scrap it and buy a cheap gun from ebay for the job, in fact I'll send you my address and you can send it to me for disposal Seriously though, if you buy a quality gun like Sata, Iwata or Devilbiss the fan should not have a diameter, that would suggest it is spraying a circle. Play with the controls, try opening the fan and paint volume knobs fully then vary the air pressure to see the results on some old panels, cardboard or the back of the shed door and check you are thinning the paint or whatever you are spraying to the right viscosity.
