Yes, I've finished watching that series already, looks like OCC has many more episodes/series to go.
That Boyd Coddington made me laugh, he's the only one who gets to drive the finished cars, the paying customer ends up sitting in the passenger seat.

Did a spot weld at the weekend with gloves and mask, though I was in my jogging bottoms as I was only meant to be grinding and polishing ~ turns out that your leg being on fire is a bad thing... Always have a mask on and gloves, and if I am actually planning to weld I have the correct overalls on

A mate of mine got bad sunburn on his eye lids, he was doing a lot of tacked joints in rapid succession.
The poor lamb. I still sometimes find my doing the odd tack with no eye shield, eyes shut, not clever but only the occasional one.

For a few quick tacks I put my (gloved) hand over the shroud, still close my eyes though just in case!

Cutting / grinding metal, so thick gloves on, half face mask, ear muffs and safety goggles. Then put the cut metal on my welding cart for welding and realise when i'm about to start welding something looks funny.... I click and realise what i'm wearing and I change to thinner gloves and auto mask. Have come very close to arc eye by almost forgetting to put my mask on. But have seen enough lobster arms / stories about arc eye to avoid it at all costs

Me too, although I wear glasses so in theory I shouldn't get flash from the UV though i'm not prepared to test the theory. I sometimes use factor 50 sunblock if its really hot in my workshop rather than wear overalls still wear gloves and mask though.
