Spot Welder: sell or convert?

Hi All,
I'm new to all this, so please bare with me.
I've got an ARO spot welder P169 and timer CD12 currently selling on ebay
because I didn't think I was going to be able to run it on 240v as it's a 380/420v
model. It even has the old style cable connectors!
I would really appreciate any advice on converting it or any other options.
A 240v clarke with problems has just sold on ebay for £134.
I'm relying on a good price for mine to get a 240v but would it cost me less to get mine altered?
Any advice, I would be really grateful.

Hello Mini,

an option is to buy a transformer of suitable capacity to run this kit, i.e. 420 to 240 single phase (assuming the welder is not three phase?).

I had a quick look at your listing but the plate doesn't seem to give a KVA or current rating?

If you could give some more of the specifications it would help, your E-Bay listing seems to have a couple of leads but it's not clear what their purpose is?

Thanks for the reply, I've looked through the booklets and nothing jumps out at me regarding kva and to be honest it's all a bit confusing!
I managed to buy it for £50 about 2 years ago and haven't used it yet due to it
having old screw-in type leads that look 3 phase and just assumed thats what it was. The leads on the photos are the gun to timer; timer to supply and a long
extension lead.
The figure 50 on the spec. plate, is that AC source?
You can see why I've put it up for sale can't you!

Hi All,
Posted a photo of spec plate of the spot welder gun last night, the plate on the
timer unit is the same .
Just found another ebay listing (271270100816) thats the same make,model and voltage thats had a conversion.
Is that possible or even safe?
