This is an easy quick job for files and a cold chisel.
The only thing I'd consider gentle use of a grinder and flap disc is after sorting the sides of the splines, if there remains high spots that need to be leveled.
Bit of rod dabbing, slitting disc and angry grinder round....
Well that is how the roadside Pakistani mechanics would do it.
Obviously you would have to wear your ppe safety sandals
My toes scrunch up everytime i watch!
They really do scare me, but impress with their can do attitude
It is a welding forum afterall
Alternatively bit of filing, maybe hacksaw blade etc
So. I have been onto the supplier of the electronic steering kit and they have informed me that the splined shaft needs to be cut to fit the vehicle. Luckily by doing this it has removed all of the damaged splines. I have fitted the steering column without any problems. It’s a shame that they didn’t include any fitting instructions but they were more than helpful when contacted.
Once again. Thank you all for your help and support.
