View attachment 146512 well my 9100xxi just died . While it was a nice mask but it was dear. Need to find a replacement but not sure what to go for. Had various speedglas over last 10 yrs and allways like beenninpressed with them this one not so great tho. If it got cold allways had to take the filter out, remove the battery’s wait a bit and refit. Not the end of the world but annoying when none of the other masks have the issue. Then the screen cracks. What’s really boiled my **** about this is ive been quited for replacement filter is £367.50 + vat or £289 + vat surely a part shouldn’t be more than the whole ?

I have an older speedglass 9100 adflow as well ( never a problem with that ) and an old speedglas 100 ( the cheep basic one been a brilliant mask for what it is ) my 9100 v died but that was a numpty of a co worker stole it then went stick welding on site with the outer shield removed as chouldnt see rather than check before going but that’s a diffrent story untill then it was a brilliant mask, hence went for the XXi as why not upgrade. if I’m doing a lot of welding in one sitting that’s I use an adflow but a lot of the time it’s not practical I’m climbing in on and around machenary and not actually welding that much. Cutting, punching macheing bits tacking them on untill I’ve got the whole thjngs assembled and there can be a month of that then I’ll weld it up over a day or two and on the weldathons I don’t really need the extra nice view of the XXi but the rest of the time it’s really nice.
@Brad93 contact details for 3m would be excellent. I’ve botherd Essco where I got it from they are apparently seeing what they can do but I dought they’ll do much, as work don’t buy anything from that branch anymore they’ve not been much use with other things in the past
One of my 9100xx died shortly after buying.
I spoke to speed glas directly and they said send it back and and had a replacement within a week.
Was a really easy transaction and customer service was good. For an email it would be worth speaking to them directly.
