you guessed it but the type I'm looking for are about 1/2"dia, the thread is quite fine and the start is threaded down to the point.....I've seen them on used American equipment...I'll be needing 200 ++......
to use this screw in 4-5mm plate the bolt I would say would need a 4mm starter hole.....
the threaded point will self feed and cut it's way in, mushrooming the backside of the plate.......u just use an air gun or the like to drive em in.....
they are very hard making self tapping easy, have never seen a broken 1.....
I've seen something similar on Yankie ride on mowers to hold the engines and axles in the chassis.....
been looking for something to photo but can't get me hands on 1 yet...
any ideas on where to get em.......
so far ebay is useless......but that will be my search name I guess.......
