amazed you got that close without it dissapearing prontoI'm useless at birds but this landed on my fence. Managed to creep round the shed and get quite close.

It had a crazed look in its eye. Like a wind up toyYes its a Sparrow Hawk.
Possibly the most insane species of bird.
Had one try and fly through the (closed) kitchen window when Mad Wife was doing the dishes
I was half tempted to try and catch it, but I guess catching sparrow hawk's for let's is frowned upon@GraemeVW. Are you our first Ninja welder? :-)
Reminded me of when we were kids. Sister went to get something from her room and came back downstairs shouting "Mum, there's a bird in my room". Mum... "Oh for goodness sake, just shoo it out" Sis..." But it's a BIG bird ". Mum went up and there was a sparrowhawk perched on the end of the bed. Guess who got the job of getting it out....
have a look to see how they fly thru a forest.....truely amazing.......
It's been eyeing you both up....We have one that sits on the lamppost outside the bedroom window and stares at us. Looks like a kestrel on meth. No seen it hunting yet, but cleaned up the aftermath
