have an outdoor double socket on a ring circut, its protected by a 16a B MCB but it kept tripping, swapped it over to a 20a B MCB the other day but after a few hours welding this tripped too.
took the welder apart and nothing seems out of order, cleaned all the dust of the insulators on the diode plates incase it was letting current leak to earth blew it all out with airline, checked the circut board, nothing seemed to be hot or even mildly warm.
next checked the extension lead and the plug for slaters(dont laugh it has happened before, but it was a group of earwigs)
nothing seems out of sort with the board, breakers or wiring or fuse in the welders plug
all runs fine on the kitchen circut thats on a 32a breaker
so...
Am i right in thinking a C type breaker is what i need and what rating would be best?
or do i have to investigate the welder further, its a Sip105 and before you all jump on it it really performs well must be the exception that proves the rule
