interference im afraidcheck to see if it's one of those engines where the valves and piston clash.....
there are a few that dont......
might save u a lot of work........

I would find that out first - have timing covers off - before "I was off with its head"
Normally if belt lost teeth - something has stopped moving - pulley/tensioner/water pump? Engine internals.

it could still do that if one of the ancillaries had failed though ,, fingers crossed , sometimes you can get lucky enough . My wee g60 corrado snapped a belt and I got away with just a belt.Well it didn't seize, and it turns over. I think it's just a belt failure.
