I've been thinking about buying a space heater preferably a diesel one and not to big so i was going for the cheapest one I could get is there anything to watch out for. good brands or bad as I don't want something troublesome
I bought a sealy one last winter had a thermobile? one before that which was old and blew smoke out far better than heat, the sealy one works well TBH better than I expected and I haven't touched it over than to put diesel in..
Don't buy a propane one will cost you fortunes to run,on a cold day I could burn 47KG of gas, circa 60 quid, The diesels burn about 25lts about 12 quid....
most of the internals are Italian made in the same place on all the heaters, shouldn't think theres much in the brands...
would the thermostat make much of a different my workshop is pretty small 20ft by 20ft so I usually have the doors open to let out any welding fumes condensation won't be a problem as the roof has a membrane lining so thinking of something in the region of 80 to 100,000Btu which seemed to be around €400 mark
I think that propane one is out of the question for a sixth quid a day I would be better off staying in bed
I wouldn't run one in the living room!!!! but in a large well vented area, and as long as there burning clean there OK, The indirect ones are best there zero fume, but serious money..
l have a Master heater,l got it about 10 years ago and its never missed a beat yet,ran it on parafin at first then got a hold of red diesel and thats what l run it on now,its a great heater and so glad l got it,can be a bit noisy but.
i order that one as I couldn't get anything locally with that spec for the money
found this video on troubleshooting a similar model which might come in handy for somebody http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WmNtGL3ztbg hopefully not me
