Jaypar in Surrey - no refillable gas?

I am just about to get my first MIG welder (Snap-on 2135) this week and I thought I would start with re-fillable rather than disposable CO2/Argon. Based on info on this site and the distributer list on South West Gas Supplies site, I thought I would be able get from local Jaypar branches:

Thanks for the message , I have spoken to the buyer at Jayar and the branches in question will be informed that our products are available from their supplies hub .

It seems that some Jaypar stores can get stuff from the supplies hub and some can't. Jaypar Walton can't, but Woking can, so I ordered a 10l CO2/Argon from them. Only one day lead time required.

anyone else found there bottle is only filled to 180bar? Mine is at room temperature but doesn't appear to be filled to 200
Edit: SWS have clarified it is due to the bottle getting hot on filling and final fill pressure is + - 20bar

I am very new to welding, but I hear that for general welding of mild steel, 25/75 mix is good ?

In my younger days this was known as Cougar 5% and welded ms perfectly well...

'Scuse me, don't know if the gent from SWG is still visiting but I'm rather apalled at the local Jayar quoting me 140-odd quid for 10L and almost 180 quid for 20L blend, especially against the prices that have been bandied about on this thread.

Jayar use "trade" and "retail" prices , maybe you could get a better price if you qualify as trade .

Info like that should ideally be made known when you list your dealers on here, it may help avoid any confusion.

Just would like to add, if I may , we are now close to having 200 distributors , more to add to the website.

Nobody else has ever been given the opportunity you have on here and I'd imagine you've done very well out of it so far.
It's purely down to the fact that we try and discourage low-volume users from either renting cylinders or buying those god-awful disposables that we're allowing you this opportunity.

Hi Wozzaaah , thanks for that. I know what you mean with regards to the established rental systems and the disposables .
It was that lack of a sensable choice that set me on this " mission" to bring rent free cylinders to the nation in large enough cylinders and large enough quantities , ( we have about 5000 cylinders in circulation now ).
