Was thinking about this in the shower this am, as you do - I have great moments in thereand thought about the trip hazard with the rails, but as pcw has suggested making them into handrails which would solve that issue if you've got the space.
I only want the shed to slide, say, 18" - 24" so the rails won't intrude far outside it's "normal" footprint. Seeing the garden slopes and these rails will be off the ground the intention is to cover them with detachable decking "shelf" so it makes a raised platform infront of the shed with tubs of plants on top. The decking will therefore only need to be lifted off (simple wooden blocks screwed underneath to locate) and some sort of security bolts on the rails removing for the shed to be ready for sliding. Rather than manual heaving the intention is to use my PortaPower ram for the actual moving
