Source of used batteries?

https://batterystore.co.uk/ I use these guys for our mobility scooter batteries very helpful and branches around the country. Another thing, The Aldi charger won't recognise the battery if it is totally flat, needs a charge from another source

This is what I am thinking reading the instructions it should charge it but very slowly infill it gets over 10 v so currently waiting

You could try taking your old, duff battery to the tip and park very close to the battery boxes (batteries are heavy and you wouldn't want to carry them far). Then, while dumping your old one, probe a few that look ok size wise and pick one.

In porer times when I lived close to the tip I used to exchange batteries like this regularly. They're obviously dumped for a reason but often easy enough to find one that's significantly better than one that's sitting at 7or8v but doesn't have the oomph to reliably start a big car/bike reliably. Near enough for some LEDs though.

Ex alarm backup battery, still good five years later.will see what else he has there next time I am passing, there all sorts of sizes.

Try scrap yards.
I used to go to a scrap yard that almost always had pallet loads of UPS/alarm batteries.

Try a local agricultural supplier for an electric fence battery.

I would second trying a local security/fire alarm place. They have to be replaced from the safety lights after a set time and are often in very good condition still.

Ha done of them on charge for a day on a traditional battery charger, it was gassing off quite a bit? The Aldi auto one now thinks its a 12v motorbike battery, letting it rest then might try it again
