Hi, thought I'd ask on here as there is some knowledgeable members Need some advice.
Looking to soundproof the bedroom (on a budget) from neighbours noise waking me up early hours i.e. slammimg doors/cupboards etc its newish build house single skin brick/timber frame, no blockwork at all I guess you can imagine the noise coming in... They didnt even put insulation in the joists between kitchen/bedroom.
The noise seems to vibrate through the joists so I was looking at this system:
Now obviously not going to pay gyproc £30 a furring channel. Looks like I can get a similar furring channels for £3 each here and make my own channel with some epdm rubber.
In the video they use normal insulation and plasterboard but will use acoustic plasterboard/insulation instead.
Do you think this a good system and will work nicely? Cheers for any advice
edit, that channel has too small flanges for fixing but just an example
