i don't usually do gates and that, I often find it a right headache finding out what the customer wants then get undercut, but this job is for a friend so happy to do it.

Just the side gate made so far. He has bought some double swing gates to be altered to also clad them in feather edge.

Just 40mm box section, some weld on hinges from brundles and a nice locinox latch & deadbolt.

nice job , going to make a double set for my yard , like the lugs on and it battoned , I was just going to use metal cutting screws and my tek gun straight through the wood and into the box section , much better idea yours...lol

nice job there also handy if you decide to double board both sides as something to screw too

Yes the guys current fence has rotted away so he wants something he can just replace the boards on. As you can say you can also double skin it.

I wanted it to look like a proper fence so I've used nails into the batten rather than screws.

Also you have the strength and security of a metal gate without it being too obvious to the outside that you're trying to secure something.

to be honest i like that reference as I was encouraging the garage owner to build with box section and then just board them over to look like stable doors

however some like the old type stable doors as they last a long time if they are made right and are strong at that
