Think it was made as an expidition bike. Would assume there was a reason for the wheels.I don’t like the mismatched wheels or the seat but the rest of it’s really cool

was just thinking those days of buying a single-cylinder 500cc matchless for £5.00 and a BSA c11 for £15.00 have well gone but that was the price you could buy them back in the day when I was at schoolMy favorite field bike of my childhood was an AP50 no brakes. micron racing exhaust and slick tyres. Easily did 65. Also went sideways a lot if it was damp out.
Always put a smile on my face.
The clutch needle occasionally stuck open leading to a mad Scrabble trying to release it one handed at speed.
All good fun. Paid a fiver and sold it for 50
Chap at the local garage was selling his Ducati, but he's currently self isolating so no pic of his one. To my very untrained eye , it looks like this
I’m not into bikes like that personally
I do like really really old bikes as in 1910-1930’s but couldn’t live with the ride or reliability
whilst there nice they aren’t a patch on the older 748/916/996/998 series of bikes
same with my enfield have a german UHMy 1914 always starts first kick, even after a winter layup, very reliable, but the ride...….. you grin the whole time though.

I rode a bike with a 1942 engine all over the place for years.
It never crossed my mind that it would break down, my only difficulty was petrol money.
I was the one that ended up towing a bloke on his new XS1100 up the southend road and though
London. Yep it was big and fast, but needed an old 45 to tow it home.
I need an R71 lookalike right now.
Whilst looking for things I have no interest in buying I found this website with some stunning looking bikes
