hope not, even though they are below the strut, as I told you they are classed as the upper ones coz they are the higher mounted ones with the nut down as apposed toI've ordered new bottom control arms
All new and no... discs are perfecthas it cracked a frount disk ?
give me a text Gerry when your home over the holiday and ile make a conscious effort to pop by and see the babyUpdate for all on this...thanks to Norm (really nice, knowledgeable, - but so old - guy) I've ordered new bottom control arms as we think it may be worn bushes in these causing the problem. Anyway, Norm has been so good as to offer me a full refund if these don't cure the fault - can't be fairer than that..I love this forum
As to roofman...I got a good price for the impact set and timing light so I've put your new screwdriver on EBAY now
Lets hope they change loads of stuff before finding it, gearbox, engine
Well you silly man did,nt you think of the "mirror effect"...its when heat is reflected off the polished wheels and super heats the discs making them go all bendy like...would of thought BMW would of told youOk guys and girls...the answer to life, the universe, and my braking problem!! Got the car back from main dealers last night..they've had it for 3 days but in the meantime it had it's end of warranty checks and a first MOT.
So, according to the BMW man, they have checked and re-checked everything relating to the brakes and come to the conclusion.....wait for it...wait for it....it's the front discs
Yes, the new discs (mis) fitted by BMW only a few months ago are the cause. Apparently, he said, there was some paint on the hub that may have stopped the heat transfer and caused the pulsing...eh???? I said eh???? .....oooer..... I'd never thought of that when I cleaned the hubs to a mirror finish!!!
Anyway, they have fitted another set of discs free of any charge and given the car a clean bill of health
I drove the car home but never really tried braking hard as I want to bed them in properly...I can only hope they are right...but the car is still under warranty for a few weeks..........
