Am sure my dad had a cure when I slammed doors not PC but I still close doors almost silently

Was on a site last year, joiners had to swap loads from slam shut to soft close as they had loads of complaints. They worked well

Haven't seen the piston style before
Ones on chains are closers only for sure

My granddad was like that, it always started with "do you know what the door handle is for ?"

Then some other stuff happened .........

If my kids slam the doors I make them open and close it nicely once for each of their years.They don't slam the doors much now.

Our kids had a door slamming competition as i just got up of nights and i was rather ratty, just took the doors off altogether

I’ve no idea where I got it, but this thing is to stop fingers getting trapped in doors. You can only close the door if you do it gently. It actually works! Apologies for the terrible photograph

Sounds like the neighbour has 'solved' the problem.

Although my mum went through most of the worlds stockpile of wooden spoons . . . Other half still gets into a bit of a tizz at the sight of the ones in my cutlery drawer as her mum was similar . . .
