Hi, has anyone any experience of a Socome socomig 200, this is an old three phase machine I have been offered "fer virtually nowt". I am led to believe it is French! any information out there greatfully recieved.

I have now taken delivery of the socomig, It was supplied originally by Yorkshire Welding Supplies. It is rated at 250amp 80% duty cycle. It has the old style elephants trunk hose with all the seperate pipes and wires inside. I will be giving it a thorough strip down and electrical safety test with the windey Megger before I get the nerve up to plug it in! the wire feed motor, and indeed all inside appears to be in very good clean condition. I will post some pics up when I get some taken. Anyone know if you can get eurotorch sockets easily as I might convert it to eurotorch if the torch turns out to be knackered.
Phil.
No, don't try weldequip! Thank's for the heads up Scarecrow, but this ancient, no-brand kit (albeit bullet proof) is more often than not a complete headache for spares, and I ain't got the time frankly; if you've chanced it on eBlag - go to eBlag for the spares
Thanks chaps, I will look around, haven't had chance to do any more work on it yet, and have drawn an absolute blank on info, although I have spotted the woed "rectifier" on it and I am hoping it might be able to be used for tig as well. If I get any more info or pics I will post it up.
